Animal welfare
We raise our cattle with respect for animal welfare, because we know that ensuring a lifestyle that meets ethical criteria means guaranteeing you healthy, nutritious and delicious meat. As farmers we are naturally oriented to take care of them in the best way and for us to take care of them properly is not a simple obligation established by rules and regulations, but an essential condition to carry out our activity.
This is why we raise our cattle in protected stables, built to standards that allow us to offer livestock safe and comfortable environments, where clean water is always available and the indoor climate is constantly regulated in terms of temperature, humidity and air circulation, also in order to eliminate gases and dust.
To ensure that the growth path meets our expectations, we minimize any form of stress that could harm the cattle, leaving them free to express specific behaviors and natural movements.
Animal nutrition is also the subject of particular care.
The composition of the rations is specially designed to provide cattle with all the nutrients they need and includes controlled and 100% vegetable ingredients.
Finally, regular veterinary inspections allow us to take care of the animals before they even get sick, reducing the use of medicines, which are in any case subject to responsible management. Objectives that we pursue also thanks to our adherence to the Classyfarm system of the Ministry of Health, which guarantees constant surveillance in order to increase the levels of health and safety of the farms.
Supply chain and traceability
The Consorzio Sigillo Italiano supply chain consists of three fundamental steps, each of which is carried out by specific professional figures.
In the first place we find the farmers, who take care of their cattle ensuring their welfare and applying specific production regulations. Immediately after we find the processors, master butchers who have the task of processing the cuts of meat obtained from cattle certified with skillful craftsmanship and artisanal techniques. Finally, there are the points of sale, whose managers are actively involved in the identification operations in the butcher shops of the meat marketed under the Quality System.
By putting into practice the set of standards recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and the European Commission, we ensure the origin and traceability of each animal and the products obtained along all stages of the supply chain. From breeding, through the laboratories of our master butchers, to the shops, every part of the route is constantly subjected to careful verification by accredited certifiers and control bodies.
Finally, the labels on our packages contain all the information you need to know the history and the path taken by the meat you will bring to the table, ensuring the peace of mind that only a healthy, certified and safe product can offer you.
