The Project

Eucarebeef

We Italian farmers are considered among the best in Europe and the world for our system of protected farming of beef cattle. For this reason too, we have long been committed to providing concrete answers to the ethical and environmental problems that affect all types of farming.

To communicate the work done, the goals achieved and the future prospects of the Italian beef cattle breeding sector, as A.O.P. Italia Zootecnica we have decided to promote the Programme IN EUROPE WE CARE FOR BEEF.

Funded by the European Commission, the Programme will take place in Italy and France during the two-year period 2024-2025, aiming to inform consumersabout the excellence of beef produced in Italy with the certification of the Sistema di Qualità Nazionale Zootecnia (SQNZ-National Zootechnical Quality System), illustrating our commitment as farmers to respect high quality standards and develop the environmental, economic and social sustainability of our companies.

The short term objectives of the Programme include the promotion of certified quality SQNZ, in particular that of Piedmontese Fassone Beefgrain-fed Vitellone (steer) and Scottona (heifer), increasing the recognition of the Consorzio Sigillo Italiano(Italian Seal Consortium) umbrella-brand and raising awareness about a more conscious and sustainable consumption of meat.

Through an integrated multi-channel campaign, events and initiatives dedicated to consumers and stakeholders, the Programme therefore offers the opportunity to the Italian and French public to appreciate and recognize the superiority of beef produced in Italy, contributing to an increasingly ethical and environmentally friendly supply chain.

The promoters

The Association of Producer Organisations (A.O.P.) ITALIA ZOOTECNICA is recognised by the Ministry of Agriculture and brings together 90% of the Italian Producers’ Organisations and Producers’ Associations, representing over 72% of beef cattle produced in Italy.

Our task is to coordinate the activities of Producer Organizations by promoting services to enhance certified productions and increase their quality.

We also support the commercial activities of member companies, develop sector studies, participate in projects and research on sustainable production methods and promote training and technological innovation in the livestock sector, encouraging the adoption of quality standards, certification and product promotion.
